Faculty of Mathematics
Welcome to the Faculty of Mathematics at K. N. Toosi University of Technology. It has an excellent reputation, a strong demanding program of graduate study in mathematics, statistics and computer science, and a full range of undergraduate course offerings in mathematical and computer sciences.
The faculty has three departments with 25 full-time faculty members with research interests in several areas of pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and computer sciences. Researchers in the department have extensive collaboration with worldwide researchers.
The faculty originated as a faculty of science in 1981. In 2012, the university ratified plans to improve its educational and administrative structures by splitting the faculty of science into three faculties. The faculty now provides teaching for 90 different courses every semester distributed over 150 sections, serving both its own departments and other faculties.
The faculty of mathematics offers undergraduate programs for Bachelor's degrees in mathematics & its applications and computer science, and graduate programs for Master's degrees in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science, as well as Ph.D. programs in Pure and Applied Mathematics.

B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science
The objective of the B.Sc. programs is to prepare students for career opportunities in educational institutions, industry, government organizations and other areas involving applications of mathematical sciences. The program also prepares students for graduate studies in mathematical sciences and related fields.
It is broad-based and covers main streams of mathematics: pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and computer science. The curricula are designed to strengthen both conceptual and computational talent of the students.
134 credits · 45 coursesM.Sc. Programs
The faculty offers graduate programs leading to the degree of Master of Science. The diversity of graduate courses gives students the opportunity to specialize in one of several fields:
Ph.D. Programs
The Ph.D. program is intended for students with superior mathematical ability and emphasizes the development of creative scholarship, breadth and depth of background knowledge. A doctoral student must take advanced courses, pass a qualifying examination, complete a "Major Topic", and write a dissertation constituting an original and significant contribution to the discipline.
To be admitted, a student must normally have successfully completed a Master's degree program in Mathematics. Once admitted, the Ph.D. student selects a supervisor to direct the graduate work. Only full-time students are admitted to the program.
